As promised, here are some more clematis pictures. Many more blooms than a couple days ago. Many more still to come.
Also, our cobweb houseleeks (Sempervivum arachnoideum, a variety of hen and chicks), which normally hug the ground, have suddenly erupted with these aggressively erect wands topped by pretty pink blossoms.
We also have three cherry trees, two sour and one sweet. The sweet cherries have already finished dropping, and now the sour ones are just ripening. Much as we love cherries, these particular trees are a nuisance. They are way too tall to be picked, which means the cherries fall to the ground, blanketing our walkway. Then they get crushed and start to rot. Furthermore, one of the sour cherry trees is right above our parking spot, and the juice from the fallen cherries literally eats through the paint on our car! That's why we're parking on the street these few weeks.
As you can see below, we'd have quite a bountiful harvest of cherries, if only we could reach them. I plucked a few low-lying ones yesterday, and they were delicious! The pictures only show a small fraction of what's there. If anyone has a cherry picker handy, you are welcome to come over and take as many as you want!
And finally, just for fun, here's an indoor Oxalis triangularis whose leaf shape and color I just love.
