My mobile for Cornell University's Mann Library was installed last week! It's a large 8-foot tall brushed metal mobile commissioned by employees of the library in memory of a coworker. The mobile is called Eternity's Sunrise, after the William Blake poem that inspired it:
Eternity He who binds to himself a joy Does the winged life destroy. But he who kisses the joy as it flies Lives in eternity's sun rise.It's hanging in the cavernous second floor reading room, which is actually a very bright space, unlike what you see in the pictures below. The library itself is a gorgeous example of Art Deco architecture, and the bare metal of the mobile complements nicely the silver architectural details throughout the space.
