Layering Textures

Here is an experiment in combining my recent digital work with mobiles. For this piece, I had a poster printed of this image, which is itself a montage of mobile photos. Then, I traced the metal mobile pieces onto the poster and cut out the shapes, which I then adhered to the metal pieces with iron-on tape. The result is in the first two photos below.

Here is a photo of the interesting shadows cast by this mobile hanging in a window:

And finally, here is a montage of the previous three photos plus one more shadow photo:

So then, this is a montage of a mobile that is itself made from a montage of mobiles. It's like an M.C. Escher drawing....
