Color and Lack Thereof

Two small projects from the weekend, building on recent themes. First is a Calder-style teardrop mobile (24" W x 15" H) that features a return to my usual color palette:

And second is a smaller version of the linguistic mobiles I've been making (19" W x 17" H), just to see how the idea works on a smaller scale. I've been wondering if these shapes are, in fact, not really letters and words, but simply individual packets of information.

All of my recent mobiles will be at the Holiday Spirit Store on the Ithaca Commons during November and December. Our grand opening is November 6, First Friday Gallery Night, 5-8 PM.
